In this 6 week virtual workshop for ages 10+, students will learn how to design & construct a mini, digital, & half-page zine based on their organizing needs. We will also explore the history of zine making & self-publishing in radical organizing, and their relevance in today’s world.
Each session meets online, 12-2p on Sundays starting September 29, 2024 and ending November 3, 2024.
Sun. Sept 29 - Session 1: Intro to Zine History + Production Techniques
Sun. Oct 6 - Session 2: Mini + Half Page Zines
Sun. Oct 13 - Session 3: Zines for Protest
Sun. Oct 20 - Session 4: Art + Photo Zines
Sun. Oct 27 - Session 5: Deluxe + Digital Zines
Sun. Nov 3 - Session 6: Zine Swap + Group Zine
You don't need to sign up for all 6 classes, and can choose the ones you want to attend. We recommend all six for the best experience. This workshop is worth $150 per person for the entire 6 week session OR $25 per class. Sliding scale is available for all Magik Press workshops.
